Rachel Freeman is the Principal Designer and Owner of Rachel Interiors based in Los Angeles, California.
With formal fine art training and a natural eye for design, Rachel’s venture into interior design began in 2009 after relocating from New York City to Durham, North Carolina. Starting out as “shop girl” for Heather Garrett Interior Design (featured in Elle Decor, Traditional Home, and Southern Living), Rachel soon became the Design Project Manager for HGID and, for several years, grew her design skills under Heather’s tutelage. This experience lead her to become a Designer for Restoration Hardware where she learned the inner workings of the luxury furniture industry and designed spaces for the brand’s affluent clientele. Rachel launched Rachel Interiors in 2012 to offer affordable interior design and E-Decor services nationwide. Rachel moved to Los Angeles in August 2014 and is a Lead Home Stylist for West Elm LA.
Rachel believes in collaborative design and has worked closely with other designers to create beautiful, comfortable, and functional spaces that reflect the personalities of her clients. Her design aesthetic combines neutral tones and textures with bold colors and patterns. She has a knack for mixing vintage and flea market finds with modern furnishings and nature-inspired accessories. Incorporating existing furnishings and providing DIY project inspirations are Rachel’s trademarks.
When not creating beautiful interiors, Rachel is painting custom portraits, working under the pseudonym Tink. An adventurer at heart, she loves rock climbing, surfing, running, playing volleyball, and scouring thrift stores and flea markets. Her favorite things: Charles (her partner), coffee, mimosas, plants, white stovetop popcorn, essential oils, and her journal. “Everything I am is because of Him.”
